Kramnik vs. Leko for the World Chess Championship
A recent press conference in Hamburg, Germany, announced today that the staging of the "First Classical World Chess Championship after four years" between Vladimir Kramnik and Peter Leko will take place from September 25 to October 18 this year with a prize fund of one million Swiss Francs (US $772,700) Opening ceremony will take place on September 24, 2004.
