2012 Asian Chess Championship. Parimarjan Negi (2640), age 19, won the 11th Asian Continental Chess Championship, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The event was held from May 4 through May 14, 2012.

2012 Australian Chess Championship. Darryl Johansen (2403) won the 2012 Australian Championship in January.

2012 Bulgarian Chess Championship. Ivan Cheparinov (2664) won the 2012 Bulgarian Championship, held in April.

2012 Catalan Chess Championship. Miguel Munoz Pantoja won the 2012 Catalan Championship on tie-break over Marc Narciso Dublan. The tournament took place in Barcelona from May 12 through May 19.

2012 World Robot Blitz Chess Championship. ChessKA (Russia) defeated KUKA Monstr (Germany) in the 2012 World Robot Championship. The event was held on May 19 in Moscow. The games were played at 5 minutes per game. ChessKA won 3 games and drew one game to win the title. ChessKA was designed by Konstantin Kosteniuk, father of former world women’s champion Alexandra Kosteniuk.
