"I have to admit, I now spend far more time on Chessmaniac.com than I do on ICC. There is something very compelling and addictive about being able to play multiple opponents at one time and usually your opponent is not some nameless user. You can often see their picture or get some more information about them through their profile, which adds to the sense of community."

"This is the best site for semi-live chess. It still needs some refining but these are additional ingredients away from the chess. keep coming back you wont find any site like it."

"People are imperfect, flawed creatures. When we find someone we like, we like them, flaws and all. We look beyond the imperfections toward some inner beauty. Often the imperfections become endearing just as they add character. Chessmaniac has flaws. Almost all chessplaying sites do. There are bigger sites, to be sure. There are sites that offer this and that beyond what Chessmaniac offers. But I think Chessmaniac has a certain inner beauty that most other sites lack. There's an underlying sense of dedication not just to chess but to the people. There's a lightheartedness and freshness that only comes with caring. Most of all, there's a feeling of potential - a defiance towards complacency. When you are with someone you like, you feel good. And that's usually enough. When I'm a Chessmainiac, I feel good. That's enough."

"WOW ! 10 out of ten for not only a superior site but one with very user friendly settings and lay-out. I play chess on various sites throughout the Internet but nothing compares to chessmaniac.com. On other sites one always faces problems with being behind firewalls, paying for option settings. I am sure every person today that are serious about bettering their game will soon pay a visit to this site."

"Very good site, halfway between live chess and correspondence chess, depending on whether your opponent happens to be online at the time or not. This mix of styles makes games interesting, as periods of involved positional play can give way to tactical battles once you are back at the (key)board!"

"This site OWNS online chess in my book!"

"Very good, easy to use site. Haven't checked it all out yet, but I'd recommend it to anyone looking to play chess online. Also good because I have my highest rating yet here.;-)"
