India's pride Viswanathan Anand has reportedly pulled out of the world chess championship in Tripoli. The champion player is not taking part in the meet in a show of protest against some decisions of the world chess federation (FIDE).
The knockout event featuring 128 players will be held at the Libyan capital from 18 June to 13 July.
The Indian Super GM is currently in Russia to receive the Chess Oscar.
According to FIDE plans, the winner of the world meet will meet Garri Kasparov (the world's No. 1 player) and the runner-up will face Vladimir Kramnik (No. 3).
The winners of these two matches will then take on each other in a game to determine the ultimate winner.

Bulgarian Gal is World's Chess Champion
Bulgaria's Antoaneta Stefanova won the World Chess Championship in Russia. She drew her host Ekaterina Kovalevska on Saturday.
Stefanova, aged 25, is the first Bulgarian woman to win the finals. In her previous games during the championship, she had scored victories, and a tie was enough to make her No.1.
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy was quick to send a congratulations telegram to Stefanova.
"You gave the world a proof that Bulgarian women are the most clever," the message said.
