Welcome to our new chess playing web site! Why join our community of chess players when there are so many other sites where you can play chess? This is a free email, turn based, correspondence chess site with no subscription fees! Email Chess is similar to correspondence chess. The only difference is that your opponent's moves arrive via email. There is no additional software to download and registration is free. Here is what you get. Enjoy!
  • Graphical user interface. Just click to highlight the piece you want to move, then click the square to move to.
  • Move history is displayed either in Algebraic Notation, or in a verbose style.
  • You can select from different board size and piece sets to customize the look of your game.
  • Persistent Games. Games are stored between web sessions.
  • Move validation by JavaScript, including check, pawn promotion, castling and en-passant.
  • "Offer draw" and "Resign" options.
  • You can Chat with your opponent.
  • Multilanguage support in (English, German, French, Portuguese and Spanish).
  • Users are Rated based on victories and loses.
  • Ranking of players based on their rating.
  • User Statistics with History of games and Graphic visualization of rating evolution.
  • Players can choose to join a team with other players.
  • Draw Verification (Stalemate only).
  • You can see who is online.
  • You can choose to play rated or non-rated game.
  • With the analyze feature you can navigate in the history and see all the moves from the beginning.
  • Text File export compatible with PGN.

Tournament Rules All players must be United States Chess Federation (USCF) members.
Format:
USCF Rated

USCF Open 4 SS Game/60. Please bring sets and chess clocks if you have them. Everyone plays in the open. Prizes may be awarded to best 3 scores under 1600*
Prize Fund 1st - $150 2nd - $75 3rd - $50 Best under 1600 prizes* 1st - $80 2nd – $50 3rd - $30
(*) Prize fund and/or number of prizes for top 3 best under 1600 subject to change based on total entries.
Round Times 02/21/04– 10:00 am, 12:30 am, 3:00 pm, 5:30 pm
Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner available at site.

Main Tournament Entry Fee:
$25 per participant in advance - Postmarked by 02/18/04 Paso Robles Chess Club Members and K-12 chess players $5.00 discount.
$30 late or onsite registration 02/21/04 from 8:30am to 9:30am. New players or expired USCF members must pay annual fee for USCF membership: $17 for ages 14 & under, $25 for ages 15 to 19 and $49 Adult; $36 Senior
