Topalov Accused of Cheating

Topalov accused of cheating at San Luis World Chess Championship

Budapest: Bulgarian Grandmaster Vaselin Topalov, who won the World Chess title at San Lius in Argentina last month over Indian Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand has been accused of taking outside help before making moves in the Championship.

A Hungarian website www.index.hu reported that "an unnamed participant in the World Chess Championship in San Lius" accused Topalov of using outside help to win the title. According to the report, the anonymous accuser claimed that "after each move of Topalov, Cheparinov used computer analysis of the game and then secretly signaled the Bulgarian Grandmaster for the next move."
